My Scottish roots are in Airdrie, which I have never visited. My great, great, great grandfather emigrated from Airdrie to Canada. His name was Thomas Johnstone. My Grandmother is Edna (Johnstone) Ayers. I understand there is a butcher shop in Airdrie that has been in operation for many generations of Johnstones. Can anybody confirm this butcher shop, the current operators, and it's address/contact information? I will be visiting Airdrie in October and would very much like to connect with this family history.  Great news, I just found my biological family after 38 years. They all live in Airdrie Scotland, this is strange because I live in Airdrie Alberta Canada, I am coming over to meet them next month, I cant wait.

My Great Grandparents are from Airdre, it's always seemed like a small piece of heaven to me. I was hoping to find more information about the town from when they were there, but with the site going down, I'm outta luck.

Well, it's too bad the site is closing down. I am actually going to visit someone I know who lives in Caldercruix and hoped to find out whether there was any reasonable lodging in the surrounding area. Now what will I do? Ach!

I was born and raised in Craigneuk. Went to Dunrobin and then to Airdrie high. Went to Canada in 1973. Still miss my family and Airdrie very much.I guess i left my heart there. Hope to be home soon. Will welcome any emails. |
