hi all, im from rawyards was born there 1950,..moved to blackpool 11yrs ago,….i to have fond memories of airdrie, but sadly i hear its all changed now…..and no! not for the better,..anyone want to get intouch send a post,.

I am from chapelhall in Airdrie and i think Airdrie is in the need of some development.For youngsters espeically as around my house these boys hang out with bottles of buckfast and cans of supers and vandalise around my home i think these thugs have to be stopped somehow.

I go to Airdrie Acadamy, The new school is terrible, the old school was better.

I attended Airdrie Academy from 1958 to 1961. I did nor know they were building a new school. What REUNION are you talking about? I never heard of any. I would also be very interested if anyone could post a photo of our OLD SCHOOL. I loved attending AIRDRIE ACADEMY AND ALEXANDRA PRIMARY SCHOOL…(I believe Alexandra is no longer a school either. Anyone have a photo of that school as well?

I was shocked to discover that the Academy is being replaced in October 06. Would it be possible for all these former pupils who cannot get to the reunion to have a photo of “our” academy and also of the new one. Thank you

7 years ago, I got married in Airdrie. My husband was born and brought up there until he left at 16 to join the Royal Navy. Shortly after, being pregnant and with a husband often away, I decided to come back to my home town of Montreal, Canada. I enjoyed looking at the photos and will visit this site often in the future. I’m looking forward to going back with our daughter to visit the family. This has make me feel a wee bit closer to them. A nice photo of the town’s register office would be appreciated!

It would be nice to see a picture of Airdrie High school .I know it was demolished many years ago ,but it would still be nice to as i went to Chapleside and then Airdrie High
