New Theme
Posted by webmaster on March 27 2005

Came across the “Notepad” theme tonight and have implemented it on the site. It looks clean and I like the layout, so hopefully it should be here for a while. Let me hear your thoughts. Thanks to PHP-Princess.net for making this theme available for download.

Hey there. Nice to see my theme in use :)
Daynah (PHP-Princess) and I had trouble with the scripting part of it. There was a gap that showed up at the top, between where the “paper” starts and the rest of the “page”. We’ve noticed that there are no gaps on your site. It’s been bugging us since we couldn’t figure out what it was that was causing the gaps after we did the conversion of the plain html dummy page into a WP theme. Did you change something to fix it? If you did, we’d both really appreciate it if you would tell us what it was.
Either way, it’s always satisfactory to make a theme and see it put to good use :)

Thanks for the comments. I don’t remember changing anything to the theme scripting but only changed the Doc-type to transitional instead of strict to satisfy XHTML. Otherwise the theme is pretty much as-is. I loaded the static “frontpage” which is in HTML through MS FrontPage (gulp!) but all php pages are unchanged (apart from plug-ins). I’ll have another look through the code and see if there is anything I missed.

    Hi
I don’t see how to navigate to your page http://www.airdrie.net/commweb.htm – must be missing something obvious.
    Kind regards
    David

    Hi David

Sorry for the confusion. I am still trying to migrate all pages across to the new site and this one slipped throught the net. Thanks for pointing this out – and if you come across any more, just let me know. By the way – the link you provide is the old link and therefore you will find the link on the sidebar of this site.

    Dear Webmaster,

Please be advised that your link to The Lordship & Barony of Kilmarnock on
    http://airdrie.net/commweb.htm is no longer .org.uk.

The correct URL is now http://www.kilmarnock.com

    Kind regards and thank you,

    David
