Support a Scottish domain

Do YOU think we Scots should have our own .sco domain? If so there’s an organisation trying to promote this and it needs support. Why not jump over and check it out.

    I have thought this for a long time and especially since we got Devolution.
    And I fell that we should not be reduced to the type of Second Level Domain Naming Convention ether, for example co.uk.sco . Because in Canada they have .ca (Canada I think is .ca Canada Canadian
    So an address in Canada would be http://www.company.ca ware if we (Scotland) get reduced to Second Level or even Third Level Naming then it possibly could look something like http://www.company.co.uk.sco and this is simply not acceptable!

    I fell that the Scottish Domain Name Extension should not be .sco but be: .scot

    Because when we talk about who we are, I for example say I am a Scot and I also find for example talking to people I meet abroad they say are you British and I say no I am Scottish and they say oh, you’re a “Scot” and I reply yes I am a “ Scot ”

    My main concern when it comes to the issue of the Full Naming Convention, is when Scotland dose get its own domain name, what will it be:
    .sco or .scot or .scouk or .scogb or .uksco or .gbsco or .scotld or .sctlnd : I think you get my point.
    Personally I would prefer: .scot or if they had to make it a bit longer: .scotld or .sctlnd but I could see people get the last part of the longer ones mixed up with “ltd” (The short word given to Businesses that are incorporated)

    This is how we would work out the other entire Internet Domain Naming examples:
    Below is a list of how the Domain Naming as it is at the moment and then how the Scottish ones would look like:

    Current Website’s Addresses Schema: (using Steftek Ltd as an example)

    http://www.steftek.net : The .net can sometimes represent: a Company ‘s IntraNets access portal, but not always the case. An example of a company’s external access to there IntraNet site can be found at: http://www.ey.net In the interest of security I am not putting the full website address (URL to the Ernest and Young Remote Connect login screen, if you wish to see this how the http://www.ey.net site works please telephone me and I will walk you through to the log in screen but that’s as far as I will allow you to go. My telephone Number is: 0700 598 0835 and choose option 6
    http://www.steftek.co.uk : The .co.uk represents: a UK Company {the co part indicates that it may be a Company}
    http://www.steftek.com : The .com represents: Global Company
    http://www.steftek.org : The .org represents: an Organisation such as Not for Profits and/or Charity

    New Websites Addresses Schema under the Scottish Domain: { A001B1 }using Steftek Ltd as an example

    http://www.steftek.scot.net : The .net can sometimes: Represent: A company ‘s Intranets access portal, but not always the case

    http://www.steftek.scot.com : The .com Should Represent: A Global Company

    http://www.steftek.scot.org : The .scot.org Should Represent: An organisation such as Not for Profits and/or
    Charity

    http://www.steftek.scot.co :The .scot.co Should Represent: A Scottish Company { the co stands for Company }

    New Websites Addresses Schema under the Scottish Domain: { A001B2 }using Steftek Ltd as an example

    http://www.steftek.net.scot : The .net can sometimes: represents a Company‘s IntraNet’s access portal, but not always the case

    http://www.steftek.com.scot : The .com.scot Should Represent: A Global Company

    http://www.steftek.org.scot : The .org.scot Should Represent:: An organisation such as Not for Profits and/or Charity

    http://www.steftek.co.scot : The .co.scot Should Represents A Scottish Company {the co stands for Company} Also Some Incorporated businesses use the .co for there domain names but you may also see .ltd domains as well {see the Domain Name Below for more information}

    http://www.steftek.ltd.scot : The .co.scot Should Represents A Scottish Company {the co stands for Company}
    for Scottish companies that operating through out the UK. If they are a registered company for example Steftek Ltd. Company Number: SC266059 is registered and as such legally bound to operate Under the Companies Act 1985 and 1989 even low the company is a Scottish registered company you are allowed to operate throughout the UK.

    I think that the Domain Name should be .scot And that’s why I as a fellow Scot think that us Scots should get our own country domain name .scot after all we are our own country. It may be possible for me to place an application on your behalf for the new .scot.uk , .soc.uk But I would recommend for now, until we get our own domain name that you have me apply for the: .scot.uk Domain Name, please contact me at my office on: 0700 598 0835 Option 7

    I own my own company that is an IT Services Provider, the name of my company is ITUS (Information Technology User Services) this company is part of my other Technical Services Company: Steftek Ltd.
    My company offers:

    IT Services Provider, Telephone Systems, Free Telephone Calls over the internet: VoIP, (Voice Over Internet) ITC and CNS (Converged Network Solutions) New and Existing I.T Infrastructure Installation and Maintenance, Server System of all types and sizes modelled to you business or home, Wireless Broadband Provider, Cold Call sales calls Management: we take the annoying sales calls you get at your business and home. Our Telecommunications providers are working on this issue, but at this time OFCOM (The Communications Ombudsman) and OTELO )The Telecommunications Ombudsman) {Independent Watchdogs for the Communications Industries will not allow 07001 numbers to receive SMS (Text messages)
