Re: Ian Bannen…. Every time Ian Bannen would appear in a movie on the TV my Dad, who passed away a few years ago, would remind us of Ian’s visits to their house when they were boys. Now every time he’s on TV my wife and I race to say it. He’s part of our family memory and will be forever. And makes us mention Dad. Which is perfect.

I remember Big Dunky as well, he was a nice man, I stayed in Mull petersburn. What about Steven Lyndsay of the group. “The Big Dish”
As for Brian McLaire He did stay in Craigneuk, his late dad(a nice man) worked in Inverhouse distillers.
Does anyone remember John Patersons pub in the main st/ Where WH Smiths is now?

The 1871 census of the parish of AIRDRIE shows a JOHN GARDNER a Blacksmith living at 115 Black Street,Rawyards,Is there info about that family

I was back in Airdrie nine months prior to Feburary working and at that time focus was due to close although it was still open when i moved to Milton Keynes .

Hi
I am trying to locate a copy of an Airdrie photograph with a relative of my fathers’ in it, he was born and brought up in Airdrie and for his birthday I would like to get him a copy. The photo is of the Cenotaph in Airdrie with the men who helped construct it, the photo I have been informed was published many years ago in the Airdrie Advertiser.
