Airdrie is a town of 36,000 people in the central belt of Scotland UK. Situated close to Glasgow and Edinburgh it is ideally placed to explore Scotland's two great cities. The purpose of this site is to provide information and history of the town to enable visitors to gain a flavour of the culture and amenities provided within the area.

my grandfather lost an arm in a mining accident at Avonhead colliery. he sued the colliery director, and won his case .The case was heard on the 3rd November 1928 and concluded on the 21st February 1929, would like to know how grandad lost an arm,and more about the places he lived.Nimmos Row ,Longriggend,and Mossvale Place Longriggend.

17th&18th october , in Victoria Community Education Centre ,Airdrie , there will be 2 days of fun for all ages ,from babies to parents and grandparents.Why not come along and get involved in our ever expanding gaelic community.
